Ruston Sports Complex
Opened in 2019 and slated for a huge indoor expansion in 2021, the Ruston Sports Complex is the premier sports facility in the southern region.
Spread over 185-acres, the state-of-the-art complex offers facilities for baseball, softball, tennis, football, soccer, walking & biking trails, all-encompassing playgrounds, a stocked pond, and will soon support basketball, indoor volleyball, dance, and gymnastics!
Louisiana Tech Sporting Events
Throughout the year, fans can cheer on one of Louisiana Tech University's 16 Division I teams. The University is home to the world-famous Lady Techsters basketball team, and the Bulldog football team has appeared in a record seven bowl games in a row. In 2021, the new JC Love Field at Pat Patterson Park played host to regionals on the road to the NCAA College World Series.
Grambling State Sporting Events
Grambling State University has a rich Athletics history that continues to garner national attention. Grambling has generated some of the most successful athletes and coaches on both the professional and collegiate level, including Coach Eddie G. Robinson, the third most-winningest coach in the history of NCAA College Football and Doug Williams, the first black quarterback to win a Super Bowl.
Known as the Tigers, Grambling State University has a total of 13 competitive sports programs that compete in the Southwestern Athletic Conference {SWAC}, including football, soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's track and field, tennis and bowling.
Squire Creek Country Club
Squire Creek is a private, members-only facility, which features an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Tom Fazio. The course was ranked as one of the top 10 best new courses in America by Golf Digest in 2004. Squire Creek's 18 championship holes are hand cut into the Northern Louisiana landscape. They offer a fair but challenging test to players of all calibers. The 7,105 yard, par 72 layout is characterized by a gentle rolling plain and plays feature to neighboring beautiful Southern style homes. Natural views and picturesque scenery surround our property to provide a perfect escape.
Lincoln Parish Park
Rated as one of the best mountain bike trails in America, Lincoln Parish Park is a treasure for mountain bike lovers and noncyclist too. The 10-mile trail offers a challenging and exciting course for not only the advanced rider but beginners as well.
Park amenities include covered pavilions, picnic tables, and benches throughout the park. A 1.25-mile walking path winds around the beautiful lake. Guests can fish from piers or from non-motorized boats. Kayaks and canoes are welcome.
Rock Island Greenway
Stretching across Ruston, the 6-mile Rock Island greenway network is a paved and graveled multi-use path system that offers a quiet stroll through the piney woods and a safe, accessible route to various areas of town.
The OWL Center
The Outdoor Wilderness Learning (OWL) Center is 800 acres of rolling hills, beautiful facilities, and programs designed to encourage teamwork, family bonds, character development, education, and fun!
